Discover Ellerton Bungalow

Built over 100 years ago, Ellerton is a vintage bungalow on a 9-acre organic tea and spice estate. It’s a superb-value boutique hotel close enough to Kandy to explore the sights but high in the mountains above the bustle of the city. Surrounded by verdant jungle, ancient forests, and lush plantations it’s the place to go on nature-filled hikes and bike rides or simply bliss out by the pool.

The bungalow has been gently re-furnished and modernised but is still in keeping with its classic, period feel. The rooms are fan-cooled and range in style from the traditional /classic country-style rooms in the Main House to the more contemporary rooms in the Valley House and gardens. The hotel aspires to make you feel as though you are staying in a friend’s home and with this in mind, Ellerton has a variety of options for families. Mealtimes are casual, the chefs offer Western menus and Sri Lankan curries. Ellerton is the perfect retreat for those happy to spend a lazy day or two by the pool, however, there is lots to do locally or further afield. You can explore the immediate areas on foot, bicycle, or tuk-tuk or head slightly further afield to visit Kandy’s famous Botanical Gardens and the Temple of the Tooth.
