Arusha Coffee Lodge is nestled in one of Tanzania's largest coffee plantations, and is the perfect place to relax before or after a safari. The lodge is on the outskirts of Arusha, which is only a 5 minute drive away, providing guests plenty to do should they wish to venture into town.
Accommodation is presented in the form of 30 Plantation Houses, 12 of which are suites. The suites are comfortable and present a nice repertoire of amenities to ensure your stay is comfortable. All suites provide en-suite bathrooms and a 32" flat screen TV with satellite. A balcony and sun terrace are also on offer to afford guests pleasant views and a place to relax. The other rooms, while not boasting quite the same levels of luxury are still very homely and comfortable, hidden away in the coffee bushes of the Burka Estate and with a charming open log fire.
The hotel provides lunch in buffet style, and provides cuisine for vegetarians. Dinner is served in the Plantation House restaurant with an 'a la carte' menu that presents dishes with a European influence with a hint of African flair. Guests can also enjoy the swimming pool and the lodge bar, and take in the quaint surrounds of the lavender and coffee bushes and the landscaped gardens.
Arusha Coffee Lodge is 5 minutes' drive from Arusha Airport and approximately a 90 min drive from Kilimanjaro Airport.
Coffee plantation tour, visits to nearby Arusha National Park and a day trip to the Ngorongoro Crater.

We didn't love Arusha. Perhaps it was the shock of jet-lag, or perhaps it was the volume of mosquito bites we both got (even while wearing bug spray and mosquito repellent bands). The food was just OK. But I do have to say our room was lovely and the bed was quite comfortable.
Beautiful place to spend the first night. And the food here was probably the best out of the places. All places had good food but this place was excellent.
