Machweo
Taking its name from the Swahili word for sunset, Machweo Wellness Retreat & Fine Dining is the perfect place to enjoy a sundowner; perched high on a hill and offering fantastic panoramic views. A great stop-over accommodation, Machweo is ideal for breaking up a trip or for relaxing before or after climbing Africa's highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. The hotel itself overlooks the Monduli Mountains and is only a 30 minute drive from Kilimanjaro International Airport and 7 minutes from the centre of Arusha.
Facilities at Machweo are good, with a spa offering a sauna and steam bath, guests will also find a swimming pool in the grounds along with an outdoor Jacuzzi and bar. Rooms are really nice and well furnished. They embrace African nuances while maintaining a pleasing standard of modernity, with en-suite bathrooms, four poster beds and mosquito nets.
