Ndali Lodge is located approximately 45 minutes from Kibale Forest National Park. From its exciting location to its magnificent views, surveying the 'Mountains of the Moon', Ndali Lodge is a truly beautiful place. Situated on the rim of an extinct volcano, which has since filled with water, the lodge looks out upon the incredible Lake Nyinambuga.
Ndali Lodge offers 8 en suite stone and thatch cottages which are all suitable for families. With an emphasis on using local materials the interiors are imaginatively and comfortably furnished. Each cottage consists of a bath, shower, WC and hand basin and a private verandah, perfect for watching the sun setting behind the Rwenzori Mountains, the snow-capped peaks of which are clearly visible on a clear day.
The main thatched lodge consists of a spacious sitting room, reception area and dining room which at night is festooned with candles - the lodge has no electricity or generators to destroy the tranquillity and atmosphere. There is however solar lights in the cottages. These areas all open out onto Lake Nyinambuga and are connected by two open passage-ways or breeze-ways which fruit bats, owls and frogs like to use as a highway to the Crater Lake. The staff are known to be particularly friendly and welcoming and they, together with the owners Aubrey and his wife Clare, treat guests as good friends.
Approximately 5 hour drive from Kampala and 40 minute drive from the airport at Kasese (charter flights only).
Trips to Kibale Forest (chimp tracking) and the Bigodi wetland sanctuary, walks around the farm and to the local waterfall, swimming in Lake Nyinambuga, birding, trips to a tea plantation and boat trips on the lake.
