Chaminlandu is a seasonal bush camp (Jun - Nov) located in the remote, southern part of the South Luangwa National Park. There are just three stilted tree houses at this exclusive camp set on the riverbank beneath a soaring ebony grove. You won't need to leave your room to see the wildlife - from your unique vantage point you can watch as animals roam across the landscape, or swing through the trees above your head.
Each of the open-fronted thatched chalets is on 2m high wooden stilts. Each chalet is en-suite with twin showers, twin wash basins and toilet.
Enjoy a sundowner from the comfort of the thatched bar and dining area, as you watch the wildlife do the same at the river or head to the hide next to the watering hole, the perfect place to spend siesta.
How to get to Chamilandu Bushcamp
Fly from Livingstone (4 hours with stopover) or Lusaka (1 hour 10 min) into Mfuwe International Airport. Here it is a 45 min drive to Mfuwe Lode for refreshments before travelling to Chamilandu Bushcamp which is approximately 2 - 2.5 hours away through the South Luangwa National Park at game viewing speed.
Activities at Chamilandu Bushcamp
Walking safaris; game drives (day and night) and birdwatching. Guides are highly trained and they will instruct you on how to behave on walks when approaching some of the larger animals. Alongside your guide is an armed national park escort scout.
Another great camp with such unusual accomodation. Flick made us feel really at home and Gilbert was a very good guide.Read full trip review
