On the forested banks of the great Zambezi River, upstream of the mighty Victoria Falls where it thunders into the Batoka Gorge, is The 5 * Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara. Indeed, it is so close that the waterfall's spray can be viewed right from the hotel veranda, the edge of the falls can be seen from the Sun Deck and there is direct access to the world wonder from the hotel grounds. As the Royal Livingstone is located in the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park you may also be surprised to encounter zebra or impala grazing on the hotel's manicured lawns.
The hotel's luxurious colonial decor is present throughout the 173 spacious rooms along the river bank including 3 luxury suites and a Presidential Suite. All rooms en-suite guestrooms have their own private veranda, stretched along the river bank. The main hotel is a sequence of thatch-roofed buildings and incorporates the lounge, restaurant and bar. The swimming pool visually links the river with the terraces of the hotel.
The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara is approximately a 15 minute road transfer from Livingstone and an approximately 1h50 minute road/boat transfer from Kasane in Botswana.
In the area at an additional charge activities include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, elephant back safaris and white water rafting. These all can be booked at the hotel Daily Activity centre.

Review of The Royal Livingstone Hotel by Anantara
Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice too. Very cool to see zebra and giraffe on the hotel grounds and we saw hippo and elephant in the river from the hotel deck, very cool experience.
Food was only mediocre but everything else was amazing.
Ok. Not a 5 star tho.
Service very pretentious, unwelcoming. Food bad. Nice grounds.
