Balloon Safaris
Balloon safaris offer a fabulous opportunity to view game from a bird’s eye view. Floating silently over vast plains is certainly a memorable and thrilling experience.
Balloon safaris are morning activities largely offered from camps in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Masai Mara in Kenya and the Kafue in Zambia.
The reason these parks are so conducive to balloon trips is because they are largely comprised of huge flat plains. People are often disappointed to hear that balloon
safaris are not offered in parks such as the Kruger Park in South Africa but the reason for this is that the park foliage is too dense and can make landing dangerous and
difficult. The same could apply in areas with large tracts of water. That said, however, you can enjoy balloon safaris outside the Kruger Park in the area known as the
Panorama Route floating above sites such as the magnificent Blyde River Canyon. Or you can treat yourselves to a balloon safari over the incredible Cape winelands region.
Most people, particularly honeymooners envisage that these safaris are private and therefore can be romantic. In the vast majority of cases this is not the case
(unless you pay significantly more). The safaris are provided for groups of up to 16 people and usually conclude with a bush breakfast.
