Location
The lodge is accessible by road and air. Kasane has its own international airport, which is approximately 10 minutes away by road. Road transfers are available to / from Zimbabwe and Zambia, which take approximately 1½ hours.
Highlights
- A good introduction to the birds of Malawi can be had sitting, drink in hand, in the garden here. There are resident pairs of Scalow’s loerie, Tropical boubou shride, pearl spotted owl and of course Heuglin’s robin. Several sunbirds are also regulars including yellow bellied and scarlet-chested. For very keen birders we can organise early morning trips to the Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary for such species as broadbill, finfoot and red throated twinspot.
