Our Comments and Suggestions on choosing a Room Type:
The room selection at this hotel often comes down to price as it is quite a pricey hotel in general when compared to other 5 star hotels on the island. What you choose also depends on the size of your party and whether you have a requirement for a beachfront location. If price is an issue, even the entry level rooms are beautifully appointed and a very good size. The beach in our opinion is so good that we would often recommend to compromise on a higher room type in another hotel for a stay on this stunning peninsula. The Junior Beachfront Suites would probably be our favourite of the entry level rooms.
The Deluxe Rooms are 50m². They are located on either the ground or first floor and are all sea facing. They can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child.
The Deluxe Beachfront Rooms are the same size as the deluxe rooms but are situated along the beach front. They are located either on the ground or first floor and can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child.
The Junior Suites are 76m². Situated either on the ground, first or second floor they can also accommodate 2 adults and 1 child.
The Junior Beachfront Suites are the same as the junior suites but are located on the beach front.
The Deluxe Suite is 94m² and on the ground, first or second floor. Located at the tip of the spectacular Le Morne Peninsula, set apart from the resort’s public areas, the Deluxe Suites will appeal to those looking for peace and privacy. Deluxe suites have been designed to resemble private apartments with well proportioned rooms and a spacious terrace to enjoy the Mauritian outdoor lifestyle. The rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child.
The Senior Suites at 147m² are located on either the ground or the first floor. This room is the most spacious suite on offer at Paradis. Special features include a DVD player, a nespresso machine, a reserved straw parasol and Wifi. The room can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child.
The Family Suite corresponds two inter-leading Junior Suites. The room capacity is then 2 adults and 3 children. These rooms are always on the ground, first or second floor and are sea facing at 152m².
The Luxury Family Suite is larger than the family suite at 223m². It corresponds to one senior suite inter-leading with a junior beach front suite specially decorated and tailored to children. Special features include a DVD player, Wifi and a reserved straw parasol. It can hold 2 adults and 3 children. These rooms are either on the ground or first floor.
The Executive Villas cover a surface area of 275m². All are located on the ground floor on the beach. Special features include an outdoor shower, gazebo, DVD player, kitchen, barbecue area, Nespresso machine, butler service, private beach, private garden, club car, reserved straw parasol and Wifi. The 12 executive villas at Paradis provide the ultimate in elegance and luxury in Mauritius. The room capacity is 6 guests (4 adults + 2 teenagers or 4 adults and 4 younger children).
The Presidential Villa is the largest room at 450m². It is located on the ground floor on the beach. Special features include an outdoor shower, gazebo, DVD player, kitchen, barbecue area, Nespresso machine, butler service, private beach, private garden, club car, reserved straw parasol and Wifi. The room capacity is 8 guests (6 adults + 2 teenagers or 6 adults and 4 younger children).

Restaurants & Bars
Our Comments and Suggestions on Dining at the Paradis Hotel:
We have only eaten at the Blue Marlin restaurant and fish and seafood were the order of the day. Delicious! Unfortunately Paradis does not offer an all inclusive package, however, they have recently introduced a Half Board Plus package (see tab) which we highly recommend going for.
In both Dina Robin and Paradis do expect to pay five star prices for all food and drink. We advise that you budget for this to avoid being shocked. In saying that though the service and food is of such a high quality that we really do feel that it is a matter of you get what you pay for. Both hotels are definitely 5 star and attract a high class clientele.
Additional Information
Paradis offers 4 restaurants and 5 bars.
Le Brabant is the main restaurant which overlooks the beach and swimming pool. It serves buffet meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The cuisine is international.
La Palma is the a la carte Italian restaurant open for dinner. La Palma Beach is an extension of La Palma Restaurant situated on the beach and it opens for lunches serving snacks and salads.
The Blue Marlin is a beachfront restaurant offering seafood specialities. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
La Ravanne is an a al carte restaurant open for dinner only and serves Mauritian cuisine.
The main bar is the Paradis Bar which overlooks the swimming pool and lagoon. This bar opens from 10 a.m. to 1a.m. and specializes in tropical cocktails. Tea and pancakes from 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There are bars at both the Blue Marlin Restaurant and La Ravanne. The Golf Club Bar faces the magnificent Le Morne Mountain, and offers refreshing drinks and sandwiches to golfers.
Other Services
Meal Plan: Breakfast and evening meal (Bed and breakfast if staying in one of the superb villas). Dinner is either buffet or daily Chef's Menu, in selected restaurants only, with á la carte dishes available at a supplement. Occasionally a restaurant may close for a group booking or during Low Season. Whilst Paradis guests can also take advantage of the 4 restaurants available at Dinarobin, from time to time these may be reserved solely for Dinarobin guests.
Half Board Plus: When you upgrade to Half-Board Plus you’ll not only enjoy breakfast and dinner but also a fantastic two course lunch at Paradis’ beach side restaurant Blue Marlin. A drink is included with your lunch, so too is a bottle of wine with your dinner.
Half-Board Plus will include the following:
- Breakfast
- A choice of two restaurants – Le Brabant or Blue Marlin which serve a buffet style breakfast
- Lunch
- A two course lunch – main + starter or dessert at the Blue Marlin restaurant

Paradis is a great resort for families. All rooms can accommodate children and the Family Suite and Luxury Family Suite can accommodate larger families all under one roof. The resort is large enough that the loud noises of children playing will not carry over and distract honeymooners and the like. The Kid’s Club will have your children entertained for as long as you like and babysitting services mean that you can catch up on some much needed time on your own. We were very impressed at the facilities provided in family friendly rooms including baby changing areas, baby monitors, children’s beds and cots. The only small thing that some families may see as a drawback would be that the resort does not offer an all inclusive rate.

Kids Club
Like all Beachcomber hotels, the Paradis offers a free mini-club providing a range of activities that will appeal to your children.

This course has some the best greens on the island. It is a very flat course with no hills and is therefore very walkable. On the 16th and 17th hole you are able to catch a glimpse of the whole bay and indeed the entire course is set in stunning scenery with a mountain backdrop. A few people have been put off by the state of the fairways, however, on the whole it offers a great day out.
Golf at the Paradis Hotel
Paradis is simply a superb golf resort with the first tee just 20 metres from the hotel reception - golf on your door step does not get much better or closer than this! The course itself runs along the coast below the base of the magnificent Le Morne Mountain. You will enjoy the challenge of having to hit the ball over the Indian Ocean on at least 5 of the holes - in fact it's quite easy to hit into the ocean on a few more of the holes!
Paradis offer twice weekly group lessons and a friendly weekly competition which is the perfect chance to meet fellow golfers.
A choice of three golf courses
Paradis is affiliated with a further 2 excellent 18-hole golf courses which are both just 20 minutes from Paradis - Golf Du Chateau (20 minutes drive south) and Tamarina Golf Estate (20 minutes north). At both courses guests will enjoy discounted green fees, VIP status and preferred tee times. All three courses offer an excellent challenge to the low and high handicap golfer.
Golf Packages
Paradis also offers a number of superb 5 day golf packages (all golf takes place at Paradis Golf Course) and if you are a keen golfer they offer great value. For just £257 per person you will receive all of the following:

Paradis Golf Academy
The academy is the perfect place to learn how to play or to improve your golf, the excellent facilities include video swing analysis.
Paradis is set on arguably the prettiest stretch of the island. With the spectacular mountain backdrop and in our opinion the best beach on the island, the Paradis is as like the idyllic photos in the brochure as you can get. Being a 5 star hotel you can expect top class service and excellent dining. The large and luxurious rooms are a special treat for anyone celebrating a special occasion.
Honeymoons
For most of 2010 Paradis is offering a 10% discount to Honeymooners as well as honeymoon gifts including a small bottle of champagne and fruits on arrival and a gift of a bag and a t-shirt. A 30 minute massage is offered to both the bride and groom and lunches are also offered complimentary during the whole of the stay.
Anniversaries
For most of 2010 Paradis is offering a 10% discount to those celebrating an anniversary. A copy of the Wedding Certificate will be required on check-in for validation.
Applies to every 5th years Wedding Anniversary which must be within 3 months of the arrival date at
the hotel.
All Inclusive
An all inclusive meal basis is not offered at this hotel.
