Pioneer Camp is steeped in the early history of Londolozi. A 500-year-old riverine forest throws dappled light on the three exclusive suites and provides a dramatic backdrop for the camp’s celebration of the past. The Old English indulgence reflects the lodge’s heritage with an African twist. The influences are evident in the elegant cream interiors, silver teapots and Portmeirion crockery. Guest suites are themed with historic memorabilia, telling a story of a bygone era and furnishing an environment of leisurely indulgence.

Location

Londolozi Pioneer Camp is a 2.5 hour drive from Kruger Mpumalanga (KMIA) and a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg. Federal Air flights operate a daily flight from Johannesburg International Airport to Londolozi Airstrip, which is a five-minute drive to the camp. There are also scheduled flights from Durban and Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). Private charters can be arranged.

Holiday to South Africa during February 2011

South Africa Review

We have been to South Africa before in February/March when it is the depths of winter in the UK. Envigorating to get away from our dismal weather and the South Africans we have met have always made us welcome. Where we have been, we have alway felt safe although we have clearly avoided the townships...
