Discovering Seychelles

Seychelles is made up of some 115 islands, although only around 15 are inhabited or can be visited. For the most memorable honeymoon in Seychelles, and by far the best way to experience its true diversity, choose a tailor-made Seychelles island-hopping experience. Depending on how much time you have available, as well as your budget of course, it's best to go for a twin-island option, or possibly even three islands. This will give you sufficient time to discover its unique nature and wildlife (including giant tortoises!) as well as having plenty of time for relaxing and chilling. Read our recent Blog Post which provides an expert guide to choosing which Seychelles islands to visit.

The Main islands of Seychelles

Combining the main island of Mahé with Praslin is a great island-hopping option with an impressive choice of beachside hotels on each. On Mahé, if luxurious private pool villas and world-renowned spas are your preference, together with exquisite dining and butler service, look no further than Banyan Tree Seychelles or the Four Seasons Resort. Alternatively, consider the historic, boutique Hilton Seychelles Northolme and its brand new selection of Deluxe Pool Villas. For those on a smaller budget, try the new 4* deluxe boutique Carana Beach hotel; full of local Seychelles character, you even have the option to choose private pool chalets here too. Wherever you stay on Mahé, it's easy to take excursions - either around the island or to visit Victoria, the smallest capital in the world.

Exploring Praslin is on many honeymooners' wish lists, especially the Vallée de Mai, a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to the unique double-lobed coconut which grows nowhere else on earth in its natural environment; be sure to get a photo! Hiring a car to explore the island is easy and the perfect way for discovering quiet beaches and fabulous snorkelling. Accommodation on Praslin offers excellent options for Seychelles honeymoons: from the 5* Raffles Seychelles and Constance Lemuria resorts to boutique and intimate properties like Hotel L'Archipel.

The island of La Digue, just 20 minutes by ferry from Praslin, has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere with a number of small hotels and guest houses, all surrounded by some of the most stunning beaches and scenery on the planet. One of its beaches, Anse Source d'Argent, is almost always in compilations of the world's top 10 beaches. The best hotel on the island for honeymooners is Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie; set within its hillside location, their 'Villas de Charms' are extremely romantic. On La Digue, the main form of transport is bicycle; pack a picnic lunch and cycle off to one of the many smaller beaches for the day to snorkel and relax under swaying palms.

Individual Seychelles Islands

By choosing alternative islands, you'll also be able to combine different hotel experiences for your Seychelles honeymoon; nowhere is this more the case than including a stay on the idyllic Denis Private Island. From the moment you land on the tiny grass runway, this unique island will impress and amaze. Its 25 individual villas make for a real barefoot luxury 'Robinson Crusoe' experience. Enjoy exceptional cuisine created by the island's chefs, fabulous beach barbecue's and discover the island's irreplaceable nature.

Another special island retreat is the luxury Enchanted Island Resort. Situated in the Sainte Anne Marine Park, just a 10-minute speedboat ride from Mahé, this tiny island is in fact a collection of just 10 individually-designed Seychelles style villas with pools. With much use of local wood and many pieces of antique furniture, it offers an intimate hideaway; its lovely spa adds to the relaxing powers of the resort! For an ultimate island sanctuary for your luxury Seychelles honeymoon, Six Senses Zil Pasyon offers luxuriously-appointed pool villas set within the tropical landscape. Arrive by helicopter and you'll be blown away by this jewel of an island. There's also Four Seasons Seychelles at Desroches Island.

For a larger island resort, try the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Hotel & Spa on the stunning mountainous island of Silhouette. Along with customary white sand beaches, there's a choice of activities here, including superb diving. There's also a choice of six restaurants!

Tailor-made Seychelles & Honeymoon offers

A tailor-made honeymoon in Seychelles brings together a whole series of honeymoon wishes. Obviously, idyllic sun-drenched beaches set against a backdrop of swaying palms and tropical forests feature prominently. There's also an excellent choice of different styles of accommodation and award-winning spa treatments.

There are, however, many more unique experiences and excursions to help you discover Seychelles - unique nature including giant tortoises, stunning marine life and fabulous snorkelling, and, if you are lucky, you may even experience swimming with turtles! Feast on incredible Creole cuisine, deliciously fresh and full of flavour - from the freshest grilled fish and coconut curries to an array of tropical fruits; and if you can, be sure to try the local breadfruit or even the bat curry. Above all, however, a Seychelles honeymoon will provide a kaleidoscope of colourful memories - the differing shades of blue in the ocean; the white sand beaches; vibrant reds, yellows and pinks of the tropical flowers.... and last, but no means least, intense red sunsets.

Most Seychelles hotels offer special honeymoon discounts and value-added extras. Contact our experts who have first-hand knowledge of the Seychelles hotels and islands and we will create your perfect Seychelles honeymoon built around your requirements.

Steve Meinhold did an exceptional job of planning and orchestrating the trip, especially since we had to change our plans so many times because of COVID 19. We were originally booked for April of 2020, and while we rebooked several dates along the way, were weren't able to finally take the trip until April '22. Steve was so patient and graciously worked with us in the ever changing…
