From here you will embark on a unique backroad cycling tour of Anuradhapura with a historian. There will also be the chance to climb the UNESCO Sigiriya Rock Fortress and to stop in at the Dambulla cave temple en route to Kandy. From Kandy House you will explore the city’s buzzing markets and visit the famous Temple of the Tooth, housing the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. It’s then time to appreciate Sri Lanka’s tea country, an area of exceptional natural scenery. To reach Nine Skies, your next hotel, a refurbished tea bungalow hotel, you will take a vintage train to Ella railway station. It’s around a 7-hour journey through forests, villages, waterfalls, and tea estates. During your stay in Ella, you will hike Little Adam’s Peak. Next up, your safari. Uga Chena Huts has a unique offering of both beach and safari in dense jungle. You will partake in drives in Yala National Park, home to elusive leopards, sloth bears, elephants and wild boar.
