This memorable family adventure takes you to both Sri Lanka and the Maldives. It is the perfect blend of culture, wildlife and beach. In Sri Lanka, you will absorb the island’s rich heritage in the Cultural Triangle as well as in the Buddhist hill city of Kandy. Enjoy a safari in Sri Lanka’s Wilpattu National Park before jetting off to the idyllic beaches of the Maldives.
Begin in the beautiful island of Sri Lanka in its second largest city, Kandy. You will stay in a serene, hilltop bungalow, Ellerton, but still be close enough to the city’s sights. Visit the famous Temple of the Tooth, housing the relic of the tooth of the Buddha, and see the fascinating UNESCO Dambulla cave temple, which has been a sacred pilgrimage for 22 centuries. You will then head to the area known as the Cultural Triangle, for a stay at Taru Villas Maia, a private and luxurious boutique hotel, the perfect base from which to soak up the surrounding heritage. Make sure that you are up early to climb the unforgettable Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The kids will also love seeing the herds of Asian elephants at Minneriya National Park as well as the monkey city of Polonnaruwa. Conclude your time in Sri Lanka at Leopard Trails Camp in Wilpattu National Park. On jeep safaris, head off in search of leopards, sloth bears, elephants, water buffalo and many bird species. After all the activity, the final stop will be to flop and drop at the family friendly LUX* South Ari Atoll resort. Whether it be treasure hunts, board games at sunset, watersports or snorkelling with the in-house marine biologist there will be plenty of fun bonding time together plus some alone time for parents too.
