Experience 2 of East Africa's greatest wildlife highlights; a gorilla trek in Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and big game safari in the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, where with any luck you might just catch the great wildebeest migration. The chance to gorillas up-close in their natural environment is one for the bucket list.
You will undertake this once-in-a-lifetime experience in a group of 8 and trek anything from 1 - 8 hours to find the gorillas. You will then have an hour in their company. During your stay at Bwindi, you will stay at Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge with its dramatic views of the impenetrable forest. A 2-night stay in Nairobi is sandwiched between the two safaris and allows you the opportunity to enjoy the city's sights, from the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to the Giraffe Sanctuary and the Karen Blixen Museum.
It's then time for your stay at Kichwa Tembo Camp in the Maasai Mara. Here you will enjoy day and night game drives, bush walks, sundowner cocktails, bush meals and hot air balloon safaris. If you travel at the right time of year, you may be lucky enough to see the great wildebeest migration, but year-round the Mara has an abundance of game.
