Waterberg Wilderness Lodge
Waterberg Wilderness Lodge is located in the north-east of the Waterberg Plateau, the 3,500ha wilderness area which is gradually over time being transformed into a nature reserve protecting in particular, rare species such as white and black rhino and roan and sable antelope. The plateau itself, the mountain slopes and the surrounding plains offer an exceptional diversity of animal and plant life including klipspringers, baboons, giraffe, kudu and warthog to name a few.
The lodge is built from red Waterberg sandstone and is nestled under enormous trees. Guests are accommodated in either a double room or a family room, all of which have a shower/WC, sitting area and veranda. There is a well-kept garden with two pavilions offers many shady places to escape from the scorching heat and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. One can also take a dip in either of the two spring water swimming pools or lounge on a sunbed on the lawn.
Meals at the lodge are served in the dining room and the lodge will also provide lunch packs for those going out on full-day activities. The cuisine on offer is typical Namibian farm cuisine and following dinner, guests normally gather around the campfire to exchange travel stories and wildlife experiences over a drink.
