Epupa Camp
Found in remote Kaokoland, Epupa Camp is one of the few accommodation options in Namibia's far North West. The camp is comprised of 9 canvas tents set on stone platforms, the majority of which overlook the Kunene River. Interiors are spacious and comfortable, inside you can expect two single beds, an en-suite bathroom, and mosquito netting to deter unwanted guests. Tents also possess electricity and a patio area from which to admire river views.
Epupa also offers camping facilities, which can accommodate up to 10 people - it's a good option if you're self-driving. Back at the main camp enjoy tasty treats at the dining area and relax in the lounge, both of which overlook the Kunene River. There's a pool nearby as well, which is perfect for cooling off in the midday heat.
The camp has a great relationship with the local Himba people and there's the chance to visit one of their small villages; it's an incredible insight into one of Africa's oldest and most fascinating cultures. You can also enjoy rafting on the Kunene River and visit magnificent Epupa Falls.
