- An award-wining pioneer of heritage tourism in South Africa, Fugitives Drift Guest House is set in a 5000 acre game reserve with 22km of river frontage. It is synonymous with the late David Rattray, an internationally recognized authority on the battlefields of KwaZulu Natal. Fugitives Drift still works with the team he put together in order to bring the Anglo Zulu war back to life.
The guest house has long history. Memorabilia and artefacts decorate the house and the original verandas are preserved. Relax with magnificent views towards the battlefield of Isandlwana from the pool and dine al fresco in the outdoor area. Stay in one of 6 twin rooms, all equipped with en-suite bathrooms and private verandas that deliver spectacular vistas.
Fugitives Drift Guest House is a 3 to 4 hour drive from Durban and approximately a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg.
Exciting tours of the battlefields Isandlwana, Rorke's Drift and Fugitives' Drift.

Review of Fugitives Drift Guest House
Upgraded to Lodge. Everything was fantastic. Accommodation, food, service and battlefield tours excellent. Can't wait to go back. Even those members of our party that weren't keen on the history of the Zulu battles were enthralled by the tour guide's talk as he described the battle scenes at Islandhwana and Rorke's Drift.
