Found just outside of Stellenbosch, Spier Hotel is situated in the historic Spier Wine Farm right at the heart of the Cape Winelands. The hotel houses 155 rooms, with a choice of standard, signature rooms, garden terrace rooms, river-facing rooms, and 5 different suites. Connecting the rooms to the restaurant, reception area, lounge and bar are beautiful gardens and walkways. The rooms are spaced out around six private courtyards, each of which possesses its own swimming pool. Each room has WiFi and air conditioning.
The hotel offers a host of dining experiences from the hotel's restaurant to the farm cafe and farm picnics. There is also a boutique spa, as well as a kids club to leave the children in while you relax.

Adventure Holiday to Spier Hotel
Again this has been marked down as it was not our kind of place, it was too big and corporate. The room was enormous and just felt like overkill for a 2-day stay.
I thought the Spier Hotel was good although I did find some of the service a bit hit-and-miss. People were friendly and polite but the service could be extremely slow at times and particularly in the restaurants and bars the staff didn't always seem to have a way of identifying who should be next …
