Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort offers a variety of luxury accommodation in a discrete village design with 20 different villas of 6 or 8 rooms. 158 rooms and suites have beautiful sea views or river views with floor to ceiling French windows, private balconies or verandas.
Our Comments and Suggestions on choosing a Room Type:
The Superior Rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children under 12 or 3 adults. Each room has a sofa bed in it and 66 of these rooms have sea view. All have a terrace. The room size is 54 – 62 m2. The standard superior rooms generally face the river which flows through the property. We prefer to only offer the superior sea view rooms as we feel that for the tiny price increase you get an infinity better place room.
The Junior Suites are for 2 adults only with a king size four poster bed. All have a terrace and those on the ground floor have outside showers. The rooms have their own butler service and 15 of the junior suites have a sea view. They are each 81 m2 in size. There is also a hexagonal lounge area and a large antique type bath in the centre of the bathroom. We feel that these rooms are incredible for honeymooners, if money allows.
The Senior Suites are 102 m2 in size and include a Suite includes a lounge and a dining area. Five of them have a sea view and those on the ground floor have outside showers. Again there is butler service for the room. These rooms can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child under 12 years old or 3 adults. One extra bed is provided if necessary. The antique furniture and canopy beds create a romantic atmosphere. The bathroom en suite and there is a spacious dressing room to ensure the guests’ comfort.
The Ocean Suites are 104 m2 and sea facing with outside showers and a butler service. They can accommodate 2 adults and 1 child and have a king size bed and an extra bed. This suite has a spacious veranda overlooking the Indian Ocean, a living area and a separate dining room as well as a separate guest toilet.

Our Comments and Suggestions on Dining at the Le Telfair:
We have only had the opportunity to eat at Le Palmier Restaurant for lunch and it was very impressive. The service was particularly noteworthy even in Mauritius where service is normally excellent.
We have guests report that on the whole all of the food at Le Telfair is of the standard one would expect at a 5 star superior hotel. There is no denying that the price of the food and drink will also be that of a 5 star superior hotel but if you are looking for an upmarket, largely adult experience it is simply a matter of you get what you pay for.

Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort offers a choice of restaurants that allows everyone to give free rein to their desire to discover new flavours at every meal.
Annabella's is the main restaurant built in tribute to Annabella, the wife of Charles Telfair. This restaurant has been designed in the style typical of plantation owner’s homes. Run as a 'Chic' brassiere, with half-moon shaped banquettes, rattan chairs and traditional open kitchen which allows customers to watch the food being prepared, these are all elements that give this place the special atmosphere of a journey backwards through time. Divided into four distinct areas, Annabella's can choose a different setting for itself every day, such as for example, the terrace along the Citronniers River. Every day the chef presents a creative menu which is constantly renewed, offering European cuisine with Mauritian influences.
Built on the white sand at the lagoon's edge, the Ginja restaurant's décor is fashionable but the atmosphere is relaxed. This restaurant invites you to experience Japanese and Asian cuisine, both traditional and contemporary.
Located on the edge of the beach and beside the pool, Le Palmier restaurant offers a light and varied cuisine throughout the day with dishes cooked over a wood fire or barbecues with Mediterranean influences... the perfect place to enjoy the sea without interruption. The place to eat in your swimsuit and sarong!
As a special treat why not book lunch or dinner at Le Château de Bel Ombre which is 19th century manor. Set in grounds with large trees, overlooking a captivating French style garden, the Château of Bel Ombre is an enchanting setting to discover typical Mauritian cuisine while enjoying a breathtaking view on the mountains, the ocean and the golf.
Cavendish Bar
The name "Cavendish" refers to a type of banana imported to Mauritius by Charles Telfair. It is in this bar before or after dinner that those in the know relax in comfortable armchairs enjoying a cocktail, liqueur or the best cigars. For whiskey connoisseurs, a menu of 100 "single malts" exceeds the most demanding expectations. Live music accompanies these pleasant moments.
As for the décor, the "English smoking room" atmosphere of colonial times is enhanced by beautiful coffered ceilings decorated with the arms of personalities who stayed at Bel Ombre.
Please note that the hotel only offers a half board meal basis with dinners at Annabellas. A credit will be provided to you to eat at Ginja and if you want to go over to the Heritage Awali for a meal.
Spa & Treatments
The treatments specially designed by Seven Colours for Le Telfair Spa are tailored to individual needs.
Spa facilities include 9 treatment rooms, each equipped with a bathroom and opening out onto a small private garden with;

While Le Telfair does welcome children and provide incredible facilities for children of all ages, we still don’t feel that the hotel is what one would call entirely 'child friendly'. In this we mean that it is a 5 star superior hotel which attracts a high end clientele, particularly golfers. One gets the feeling that children would need to be heavily supervised to ensure that the quiet and sophisticated ambience of the hotel is maintained.
Our feeling is that it would suit babies and teenagers more than young children who may want to be free to run around the pool and have fun without the parents receiving disapproving looks. We feel that teenagers would be well suited to the hotel where they can participate in organised activities, land and water sports and possibly go to the Valriche Nature Reserve for quad biking. Teenagers who enjoy golf should love Le Telfair.
Families
For added value the hotel provides a Family Offer during the winter months (mid April – mid Oct) where one child under 12 years sharing in the parent’s room stays free on the same meal plan booked by the parents (applicable in superior room, senior suite and ocean suite).
The Kid’s Club
At Timomo & Friends miniclub, your children will have access to a varied programme of activities specially designed for each age group. The club welcomes children aged 2 to 11 years and meals can be served at the mini-club.

Nature Activities
Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort offers its guests access to the Valriche nature reserve which - besides the exceptional character of its landscapes, is home to unique and protected fauna and flora.
Covering an area of 2 500 hectares Valriche rises to 400m above the sea, where a mixture of dry forest and coastal rainforest is to be found. The unique views, combining hilly landscapes, rolling plains and waterfalls (including the highest waterfall of the island, 162 meters high), deer breeding and an astonishing biodiversity of flora and fauna have enabled the development of tourism activities in harmony with nature.

Despite is being a championship course this golf course is one which amateurs will find an enjoyable one. It offers just enough risk and reward holes to provide a challenge without major frustration. The first 5 or 6 holes look down on the ocean and over the hotel and provide some spectacular views.
Golf at the Heritage Le Telfair
Attached to the Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, the magnificent 18 hole "Golf du Château" golf course which covers 100 hectares, is the masterpiece of architect Peter Matkovitch, of Peter Matkovich and Hayes the world renowned South African architectural practice.
Situated between the mountains and the sea in an undulating landscape interspersed with lakes, streams and tropical trees, the championship course (Par 72) which is both technically challenging and varied, provides golfers with unique possibilities for a game with exceptional moments and memories.

The advantage for golfers on the Premium All Inclusive Package is the daily green fee offered at Golf du Chateau, on the 18 holes Championship golf course and on the 9 holes Pitch and Putt.

The Heritage Le Telfair offers a very attractive honeymoon offer valid year around with the exception of the Christmas and New Year period. This offer is a 50% discount for the bride (minimum stay of 7 nights). The couple will also receive a local fruit basket in room upon arrival and one candle-lit dinner during the stay.
Anniversaries
The hotel also offers a wedding anniversary deals valid from 10th anniversary and every 5 years thereafter.
All Inclusive
An all inclusive meal basis is not offered at this hotel.

If you would like to renew your vows in Mauritius again the hotel offers a fabulous deal where the bride receives a 50% discount for a minimum stay of 7 nights. To receive the offer you must renew your vows during your stay at the hotel.
The hotel also offers a 10% discount for wedding parties over 12 people.

Although the hotel was great, the explanation of the all inclusive package on our arrival was not as clear as it could have been. This view was echoed by other couples, so this could be passed onto the hotel as feedback.
