Xugana Island Lodge is set against the stunning backdrop of the Xugana Lagoon; one of the Okavango Delta's most captivating sites of permanent water. Expect thrilling water-based activities, and spectacular game viewing conducted by expert guides. The lodge is situated in a private concession and maximises the appeal of the beautiful surrounds with wonderful views of the Delta.
Sit out of an evening and dine al fresco in the open boma area; making the most of the tranquil setting by overlooking the still waters. Tucked away under indigenous trees the island's main guest area is quaintly thatched and offers an inviting lounge area to relax in and a bar to enjoy an evening cocktail. There is also a pool on offer; a further excuse to unwind. Accommodation at Xugana is intimate, authentically African and a comfortable place to rest up before another day of activities. The en-suite chalets face out over the lagoon and are raised high off the ground with private viewing decks. There is only room for 16 guests at the lodge so privacy is ensured.
Scenery aside, much of the areas appeal is derived from the wildlife it is home to. A birder's paradise, there are innumerable species to discover, while those who enjoy the casual sport of fishing can try their hand at catching tiger fish and bream. Traditional activities from the lodge take guests out onto the Delta in a motorboat or dugout canoe (mokoro) and to the many islands of the concession for walking safaris.
